HOW IT HAPPENED
- PSU got off to a quick start, scoring nine of the game's first 11 points. Two free throws by Giorgi Tsiklauri with 14:31 to go in the period gave the visitors their largest lead at seven points.
- Brandeis's defense took over from there, holding the Panthers scoreless for the next 6:27 as they rattled off 18 in a row to take a 20-9 lead.
- The Judges hit 6-of-9 during the run, including a pair of 3-pointers as three different players scored five points in the streak. PSU was 0-for-6 with five turnovers.
- Brandeis maintained a nine-point advantage at the half, 28-19, as senior Sam Adusei (Worcester, Mass./St. George's School) had seven points and three other Judges had five.
- Plymouth State scored the first seven points of the second half to get within two points at 28-26 on a lay-up by Torran Bosworth.
- Adusei and Bosworth traded buckets on the next two possessions, but Brandeis pulled away from there, starting with a bucket by sophomore Jake Bender (Hope, R.I./St. George's School).
- Senior Aedan Using (Old Lyme, Conn./Old Lyme) followed with a second-chance hoop, then the Judges took advantage of a PSU technical two get two from the line.
- Bender stole the ensuing Panther in-bounds pass and converted the lay-up to push the lead back to 10 at 38-28, and Brandeis cruised from there.
- The Judges hit 21-of-31 from the floor in the second half (67.7%), missing just four shots from inside the arc (16-20, 80%) as they pulled away for their highest scoring total and margin of victory of the season in the 83-48 win.
