Paul Witmer

Paul Witmer joined the Brandeis staff as its recreation administrator in August of 2026.

Witmer will take oversight of Brandeis's club and intramural sports programs, focusing on enhancing the student experience by providing diverse competitive opportunities, managing student-led organizations, and supervising a team of student leaders and officials. He will oversee the University's comprehensive club sports program and serve as the primary advisor for student-led Club Sports teams, overseeing their rosters, travel logistics, and compliance with university policies. He will also plan, develop, schedule, and assess a wide range of intramural sport leagues, tournaments, and special events for students, faculty, and staff.

Witmer comes to Brandeis from Merrimack College, where he earned his M.S. in Health Promotion and Management this past spring. He served as the Club Sports graduate fellow for the Warriors, where he coordinated scheduling, facility usage, transportation, and budget oversight for 24 club sport programs serving more than 500 student-athletes. He also led updates and redesign of the club sports website and social media presence to improve the program's communication and visibility. Witmer has also worked as the Sports Coordinator of the YMCA of the North Shore in Haverhill, Massachusetts, since 2025. 

A 2023 graduate of the University of Louisville with a B.S. in Sports Administration, Witmer worked for the UL intramural program and was honored as Event Assistant of the Year as a junior.
