Tudor Popescu joined the Brandeis Fencing team as an assistant foil coach in October 2022. He helps run practices for the foil team and coaches at tournaments.
Popescu started fencing in Romania, where he earned a silver medal at the Y10 men's foil national championships and won several regional championships for different age categories. After taking a break from the sport, he resumed fencing in college.
Popescu received a B.S. in mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University in 2021 and a M.S. in mathematics from Brandeis University in 2023. He is currently a Ph.D. student in the mathematics department at Brandeis.
