Getting to know Santiago...
  • My favorite part about competing for Brandeis is Being able to experience the sport I enjoy on the collegiate level, being able to train and explore more what I'm capable of both in and out of the water.
  • Why did you choose to become a Division III athlete?
    • I became a DIII athlete because I wanted to prioritize academics over a sport, and also, I know how rigorous a pre-med track can be. I like the calmness of DIII, but it has its very competitive moments which I do enjoy.
  • My favorite high school class/subject was BC Calculus because my teacher made the class very interactive and made learning more fun for the class keeping a social atmosphere in the class instead of just pure silent work.
  • A place on my travel Bucket List is Japan
  • My dream job is Neurosurgeon because it's a field that lacks people and needs more attention in the medical field. Also, I just enjoy the idea of being able to help people and I do enjoy the human brain because I see it as a mystery and there is so much, we still don't know about it.
  • If I could compete on any reality TV show, it would be American Ninja Warrior
  • My favorite movie of all time is The Godfather
  • My favorite pro or college sports team is FC Barcelona because best soccer team in the world
