WELLESLEY, Mass. – The Brandeis University cross country teams kicked off their season at the Wellesley Invitational today. Both the Judges' squads ran 5K races. The women came in second of four teams, while Brandeis had the only men's squad competing.

TOP PERFORMERS - WOMEN

• The Judges' top two runners for the women were newcomers, with grad transfer Shae Regan (Littleton, Mass./Littleton) placing fourth in 19:10.3 and first-year Melissa Keenan (E. Brunswick, N.J./E. Brunswick) taking fifth in 19:23.2.
• Regan was just seven seconds out of the winning time.
• Junior Sadie Harrow (Bangor, Maine/Bangor) was the team's third runner in 19:29.4, good for seventh place, while senior Ella Warkentine (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) was 10^th in 19:42.3.
• Senior Katriona Briggs (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) rounded out the team's scorers in 13^th place with a time of 20:26.0.
• The top four Judges all turned in collegiate bests for a 5K cross country meet.

TOP PERFORMERS – MEN

• Junior captain Hugh Licklider (Newton, Mass./BC High) won the men's race in 16:20.9, just about 11 seconds ahead of first-year Ben Weiner (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee).
• Sophomore Parker Cook (Old Saybrook, Conn./Old Saybrook) came in third with a time of 16:34.2, and senior captain Dylan Zhao (Staten Island, N.Y./Brooklyn Tech) was fourth in 16:35.7.
• Sophomore Ben Katsev (N. Andover, Mass./N. Andover) rounded out the top five in 16:57.4.
• All of the Judges but Licklider ran personal-best times over a 5K cross country course.

• The Judges will head to UMass Dartmouth for their next meet in two weeks.
