Regan earns All-UAA honors in 10th place, helps #26 Judges finish sixth

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Brandeis University graduate student Shae Regan (Littleton, Mass./Littleton) earned the Judges' first All-University Association honors of the year today, turning a 10th-place finish at the 2025 UAA Championships hosted by Washington University. Regan helped the Judges finish in sixth place, behind five other top-25 squads. The Brandeis men finished in eighth place.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WOMEN
  • Regan became Brandeis's first All-UAA honoree in women's cross country since 2021 with a 10th-place finish. It was the best finish for the Judges since Niamh Kenney '22 and Erin Magill '22 finished in eighth and ninth place, respectively in 2021.
  • Regan covered the six-kilometer race in 21:59.3 to earn second-team All-UAA honors. She finished 20 seconds out of the top seven and first-team honors. She was just six seconds off her p.r., set a week earlier at Connecticut College.
  • After running in 34th place through the first mile of the race, Regan improved by 19 spots over the next two miles to get close to All-UAA range in 15th, then ran the final 3K split in 4:13.4 to bring herself into the top 10.
  • The Judges' next four scorers ran within 35 seconds of each other, allowing Brandeis to edge seventh-place Case Western Reserve by eight points for sixth place, 180-188. Brandeis's team score was 61 points lower than last year and their lowest since scoring 122 points in 2021, the last time they finished as high as sixth.
  • First-year Mikaela Beeler (Livermore, Calif./Livermore) was the team's second runner for the first time this season, placing 41st overall with a time of 22:45.2. She lowered her previous career-best for a 6K race seven seconds. Beeler had been the team's fourth runner at each of the previous three meets at this distance.
  • Graduate student Kayla DiBenedetto (Andover, Mass./Andover) was the team's third finisher, coming 47th with a time of 22:52.6.
  • Junior Sadie Harrow (Bangor, Maine/Bangor) took 53rd place with a time of 23:09.0, up six spots from last year's UAA championships, while senior Katriona Briggs (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) rounded out the top five with a time of 23:20.4, good for 56th, up nine spots. The Brandeis scorers had an overall spread of 1:21.
