The Brandeis Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation is pleased to unveil multiple updates to its brand identity, including a new primary logo and custom Judges font to accompany elements from previous branding.
The department has introduced a stylized B logo, which will become the primary mark for Brandeis Athletics. The traditional gavel logo will remain a part of the brand identity as a secondary mark. The stylized B provides a simple and bold design using the same primary colors as the department's previous brand identity. The gavel logo will remain to offer a more complex and identifiable option.
These updates to the visual identity will allow the department to further build on its distinctiveness, and help Brandeis Athletics remain unique from the many collegiate and professional teams in the greater Boston area. The B logo and custom Judges font was created by a freelance designer, John Nordyke, in an effort to modernize the athletics brand. The stylized B will allow for more flexibility with use of the logo both digitally and in printed form across many different platforms, while signifying pride and turning a new page for Brandeis Athletics.
The B logo will be introduced using a phased approach over the course of the 2024-2025 athletic seasons, and beyond, based on uniform rotations. The new mark will start appearing in signage, apparel, and products, along with digital and social media platforms, throughout the end of the summer and into the start of the academic year.
The official Judges Team Store will be updated in the coming weeks to include merchandise and apparel donning the new B logo. Logo options, including both general and team-specific merchandise, will be available for purchase.
