Cailyn Straubel joined the Brandeis volleyball coaching staff in the Fall of 2018 after two years as an assistant at Williams College, where her primary focus was on defense. She also served as the head coach of the Ephs’ men’s club team.

In her first season with the Judges, Straubel was part of the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year, helping the team to a surprise fifth-place finish at the conference tournament. 

Straubel graduated cum laude from Connecticut College with a degree in human development. She played for the Camels for four years, serving as a two-time captain. As a freshman, she helped CC to its only NCAA Tournament berth. A defensive specialist, Straubel was a three-time Academic All-NESCAC selection, earning four Dean’s List honors in her career.
