The second recipient of the Linsey Fellowship was Calli Morvay, of Littleton, Massachusetts, and captain of the women’s cross country team. Morvay is receiving degrees in biology and Health: Science, Society and Policy with a 3.53 GPA. She served as the sports editor of The Hoot and as a TA in Brandeis's human physiology lab. Morvay also served vice president of Brandeis Global Brigades, helping bring medical support to underserved communities.
As Maria Miara, Brandeis Athletics' faculty athletics representative and professor of biology said, “Calli is strong student, an empathetic leader and a kind mentor and peer. She is always looking out for others and considering the needs of the individual while also supporting the group as a whole.” Coach Miles Ketchum said, “Calli has been a positive, consistent, dedicated, and helpful member of the team since day one. She is a team captain who leads by example and has the respect of every teammate.” Morvay will be attending the Tufts University School of Medicine next year to earn a master’s in public health as she starts on her career goal of becoming a physician’s assistant.
