Rookies Angela Chui and Marc Eder of the swimming and diving teams, sophomore Paul Norton of men's track and field and senior Caitlin Kozel of the women's fencing team all earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Player of the Week honors for the week ending March 1.
Rookie standout Angela Chui and teammates Siobhan Lyons, Hollis Viray and Julia Derk now own all five Brandeis women's swimming and diving relay records, as they helped the Judges place 13th overall at the ECAC All-Division championships at Harvard. The Judges had seven school-record performances in all.
At the UAA championships at the University of Chicago, the Brandeis women's swimming and diving team set four school records. Rookie Angela Chui improved her own mark in the 200- and 400-yard IM, while the 200 and 400 medley relay teams also entered the record books. Chui earned All-UAA honors with her third-place finish in the 400 IM.
The Brandeis women's swimming and diving team handed Clark University its first dual-meet loss of the season, 129-114, in Worcester. During a break in the meet, the Judges honored their graduating seniors.
Although they won a majority of the events and set a school and facility record in the very first relay, the Brandeis women's swimming and diving team could not overcome the depth of host Wheaton, as the Lyons prevailed, 125-118, in the Judges' semester opener.

Rookie Angela Chui (Toms River, N.J.) continued her outstanding season with three school records, including qualifying for the NCAA championships in the 200-yard backstroke. Along with her teammates, Brandeis won 10 of 13 events in a 119-89 win over Babson.

The Brandeis women's swimming and diving team earned its first dual-meet win of the season when the Judges defeated Keene State College, 174-125. Junior Hollis Viray (Glastonbury, Conn.) and rookie Angela Chui (Toms River, N.J.) each won three individual events and were part of a winning relay team.
