WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis baseball senior second baseman Sean O'Hare of Southampton, Mass., has been selected to play in the 2012 New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Senior All-Star Game on June 4 at LeLacheur Park in Lowell. Brandeis assistant coach Brian Lambert '98 will be honored before the game with the NEIBA's Kevin Burr Assistant Coach Award, which is presented annually to an active New England assistant coach who exhibits the integrity and dedication to the game of college baseball that Coach Burr demonstrated throughout his career.

O'Hare was primarily a second baseman, though he started six games at third as well. Despite missing 17 games due to injury this season, O'Hare led the team with 11 doubles, four home runs and a .651 slugging percentage. His 19 runs scored were second on the squad, while his .349 batting average was third. O'Hare also drove in 12 runs for the Judges. He finished with eight multi-hit games and had an eight-game hitting streak. After returning from his injury on April 17, O'Hare went 5-for-10 in his first two games against Amherst and Keene State, with three home runs, a double, five RBI and four runs scored.

Lambert just completed his 13th season as an assistant with the baseball program. During his time at Brandeis, the Judges have been a part of four University Athletic Association titles while making eight post-season tournament appearances, including three trips to the NCAA tournament. The team has also earned six ECAC Tournament berths, winning the championship in 2003. As one of the Judges' primary recruiters, he has been responsible for four UAA Rookies of the Year and two UAA Players of the Year.
