Class Descriptions


In this 30 minute class, you will focus on training your stomach and back muscles to tone and strengthen the abdominals and increase overall balance and strength.

Boot Camp

Come and sculpt your way to a leaner, toner body with an instructor who will motivate but challenge you.  You will use a variety of equipment so you'll never get bored but the calories will continue to burn long after this class is over!

Faculty/Staff Yoga

A Hatha Yoga class tailored to the groups' needs and requests each week.  Postures are given with ample variations to suit each individual.  Great for all levels, beginners welcome.

Faculty/Staff Zumba

A captivatingly fun dance workout with easy-to-follow moves.  Class is tailored to the needs of faculty and staff member fo the Brandeis community.  Beginners welcome!

Group Cycle

This cardiovascular class will get your heart pumping while cycling on indoor stationary bikes using drills, imagery, and heart-pumping music.  Cycling is a great workout that people of all fitness levels can enjoy.

Hula Hooping

This fun, heart-pumping class will bring you right back to your favorite childhood activity!  A mix of dance an strength training, hooping will provide you with an upbeat cardiovascular workout while toning every part of your body!  No previous experience necessary, hoops provided.


A high intensity workout designed to challenge your body in block intervals (using just your body weight)!  The program incorporates ab and core training techniques, as well as strength, power, and resistance moves to help sculpt and tone the ultimate physique.  You will notice an 'insane' difference!

PiYo (Pilates/Yoga)

Looking to impove your strength, balance, and flexibility while listening to fun and upbeat music?  Try PiYo class!  This low-impact and action-packed fusion workout combines principles from Pilates and Yoga to burn serious calories and sculpt your body.  Great for all ages, body types and fitness levels.

Pop Hits Zumba

Come join the hour long party where you can exercise, strengthen and have fun all at the same time!  Pop Hits Zumba will feature Top 40 songs, Latin songs and more.  Cannot wait to see you there!

Power Yoga

A vigorous, fitness-based Yoga that offers you a great "workout" in a casual, relaxed, and fun atmosphere.  Whether you're learning Yoga (beginners welcome) or you're a seasoned Yogi, participating in this heart-thumping, active practice will benefit your mind, body and spirit.

Strength and Fitness

Want to learn how to perform Olympic Lifts?  We will take conventional S&C moves and put a gymnastics spin on it to prepare to learn the basics of OL.  Each class will have four sections, in order: Wrist prep and handstand progressions, Strength work, a short and very intense workout, and guided stretching.  Participants will actively look for, work on, and improve their weaknesses.


Using just your body weight (do not let that fool you) and straps, utilize the suspension training that all four branches of the military use, to challenge yourself.


Dance-based aerobics using up-tempo Latin music styles such as Pop, Hip Hop, Latin, and International rhythms and beat to party ouselves into shape!  The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms.  It targets areas such as the glutes, legs, arms and abdominals.

Zumba Strength

This Zumba class incorporates traditional Zumba rouitne with effective and safe body weight and strength training moves.  This dance party workout will get your heart pumping and tone your whole body incluidng your core, arms and legs!
