Brandeis to celebrate third annual Division III Week

Brandeis to celebrate third annual Division III Week

Division III Week is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community. During the week, every Division III school and conference office is encouraged to conduct a type of outreach activity that falls into one of three categories: academic accomplishment; athletic experience; or leadership/community service/campus involvement.

When is it celebrated?  The 2014 Division III Week runs April 7th-13th

What can we expect from Brandeis’s 2014 Division III week?

Through both local and national activation, the goal is to build a greater awareness and understanding of Division III athletics.  Brandeis University’s SAAC has organized four events to celebrate the Judges athletics this year including participation in the Boston Strong Memorial Blood Drive, Deis Day parade, a BBQ, and a nutrionist.

April 6th, Deis Day Parade:  SAAC has arranged for student-athletes to represent our athletic program in a golf-cart parade around campus on Sunday from noon to 1PM.  This day celebrates Brandeis University’s school spirit through out the campus.  Multiple student groups will be represented on Deis Day celebrating all of Brandeis’s achievements!

April 7th, Baseball BBQ 3PM-5: 30PM:  What better way to enjoy America’s past time than with a FREE hamburger and a FREE hotdog.  To celebrate Brandeis Athletics on field success SAAC is hosting a BBQ at the Baseball game on Monday April 7th.  Make sure to bring a hungry stomach and your Brandeis foam fingers!

April 8th, Nutritionist Speaks at 9PM: Nancy Clark will be speaking to all Students and Student-Athletes about healthy eating habits and how to get the most out of food options on campus.  This educational talk, held in the Napoli Trophy Room, will be geared towards helping athletes replenish and refuel their bodies in the healthiest way possible as they train and compete.

April 8th-10th, Boston Strong Memorial Blood Drive:  SAAC teamed up with Waltham Group to promote the First Annual Boston Strong Memorial Blood Drive.  Companies such as Topo, and Brandeis Athletics have donated apparel to raffle off and donate 100% of the proceeds to the One Fund. The Blood Drive is being held in the Sherman Function Hall.
